VARIETY: Barbera

VINEYARD: Estate vineyards with an excellent exposure. Clay soil, marine origin, with a slight presence of sand. The grapes are hand-harvested in mid-September. Grapes from Certified Sustainable Agriculture.

VINIFICATION AND AGEING: After a soft destemming, the traditional skin-contact maceration lasts for 10-12 days in temperature controlled tanks. This process is followed by the first racking at the end of which the malolactic fermentation starts. The refining lasts for about 4-5 months and is carried out in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature. After the bottling, the wine rests for a short period in lay-down bottles in our cellar, until it reaches a perfect refining.

The name Surì means “the sunny side of the hill” in order to underline the perfect exposure of the vineyards. The characteristic structure of Barbera makes it an excellent wine when young, but allows it to stand over time, in fact it is good for brief aging.

Colour: ruby red, intense and brilliant;
Bouquet: intense and pleasant fruity aromas reveal delicate notes of spices and liquorice on the finish;
Taste: on the palate it is pleasantly fresh, full and harmonious. The tannins give it a good persistence.

Thanks to its extraordinary versatility it can be paired with a wide range of courses. It pairs perfectly with appetizers, salads, pasta or important first courses, and tasty main courses. In summer it is excellent served slightly chilled. It is also available with screw cap.
