Vineyard
In our vineyards of “Nizza”, in optimal exposure, our most historic vines grow.
Clayey, marly-calcareous soils.
The harvest, done by hand, usually takes place between the second half of September and the month of October.
Certified Integrated Pest Control Agriculture.
Vinification and ageing
It is the ‘Riserva’ of the winery. The best bunches, produced from old vines, are hand-picked and placed in small crates. In the first months of the year following the harvest, the refinement begins in small oak barrels that last for at least 12 months. Before being ready, the wine remains in the cellar in a bottle lying down for a few months, thus continuing its evolution.
Description and tasting notes
This wine maintains and enhances its characteristics for many years, refining over time.
Colour: intense ruby red with deep purple reflections.
Nose: broad and persistent aroma with subtle spicy hints in evidence.
Taste: full-bodied and elegant wine with hints of liquorice and morello cherry on a rich and enveloping finish of balsamic notes. Cocoa and red fruits very present.
Food pairings
It pairs perfectly with structured dishes such as those typical of autumn piedmonts’ cuisine. The great complexity and sweetness of the tannins also combine well with chocolate. This wine is also excellent on its own.
